Recount Writing: Laois Legend Sue Ramsbottom
In January 3rd and 4th class researched and wrote recounts about one of Laois' greatest ever footballers Sue Ramsbottom. They learned all about her early life, her family, her job in the Army and her football career with Laois. We discussed her great attitude towards life and her favourite saying:

Halloween Art
3rd and 4th class used a variety of art techniques in October to create Haunted Houses and Spooky Skeletons.
The Haunted Houses showed the many talented painters we have while the Spooky Skeleltons allowed children to work with a variety of materials to construct a creepy creature!

Lunchtime Hurling and Camogie Skills
Camogie and Hurling skills recommenced for 3rd and 4th in October. The children are honing their skills on our fantastic rebounders!
History - All about our locality
Our history topic this term was all about our locality - Clonaghadoo and Kilcavan. The children researched about The Old Creamery, The Story of the Flood Family, Sports in our areas, The History of Our School, Castlebrack and much more. The children showed huge interest in the topic and produced wonderful projects that are now on display in the school hall. Well done all!

Science: Investigating Tooth Decay
We learned all about ourselves and our bodies in science and SPHE in September. As part of this we investigated how water, tea, coca-cola and vinegar effect our teeth. To investigate we steeped egg shells (also made of calcium) in the liquids for 5 days. Here are some photos to show our results!
Up for the Match! Mayo v Tyrone
Our 3rd and 4th class students got football fever in September creating Green and Red Mayo hats! Unfortunately it wasn't enough to lift the Mayo curse! :(
