We welcomed everyone into our classroom for this new school year with our 'We Are One In A Minion' art lesson. Each minion is unique and different. Have a look at them below!
In September we made split self-portraits. One side is realistic- a drawing of how we look, and the other side is abstract- showing who we are in the inside...our talents, skills and interests. Check them out!
As part of friendship month, we made 'Happy Hampers'. First, we decorated our own hampers. Next, we wrote compliments for every child in the room and popped it into their hampers. Everyone went home at the end of the day with a hamper full of gorgeous compliments!
We also made 'Proud Clouds' where we wrote things that made us proud about ourselves.
We are incredibly proud of the 5th and 6th class boys and girls this year who have both made it into the Cumann na mBunscol football finals! They worked so hard and showed incredible skill, attitude and hard work throughout all their matches. Bring on the finals!!!
We really enjoyed our visit to Mollies Farm where we got to look at all the different pumpkins. Kian told us some facts about how the pumpkins grow and we had a competition on who could find the smallest and biggest pumpkin!
Halloween fun for 5th and 6th Class!
In History we learned about 'The Celts'. In art we made ogham stones out of clay. We wrote our names in ogham writing and painted them grey before bringing them home.
We created this beautiful winter scene using paint for the background and oil pastels for the tree and lamp post. Love how they turned out!
5th and 6th Class are proud authors of their own story books! A lot of time and effort went into creating these winter themed stories. The children from Junior Infants to Second Class really enjoyed listening to the 5th and 6th class reading their books to them before the Christmas holidays.
